most definitely ..its a great way to read manga you never heard of and great way to catch up on current ones that hasn't been released yet.
It is good.
cz i can't get the manga in malaysia
copy the pages of the manga from internet and then, tie the pages like a book.after that u can easily say u r manga creator.lol
I thought about this for a long time...there are some manga that we just can't get in North America and we can't understand Japanese.
If there was no online scanlating, there would be less people buying manga too. We read if online first and if we like manga, then we buy what's available. If we don't know, we don't want to waste money on it! They're not cheap...And the authors make enough of a living off the people in Japan who CAN buy and understand all the manga they want.
I thought this over for a while and I decided to change to O
It's free, fast-access, and something that everyone could enjoy!
Only cuz I read them ALL the time
~!
Heck yea, I support it!!! I only buy the manga I really, really like but the rest I have to read online cause I don't have money.
Without online Scanalating most people would not have heard of manga. Same goes for anime fansubbing.
They don't sell manga around here 'nuff said.
Agistfang that was long:O
But It's cheaper and you don't have to go out and get stuff.
because mangas(especially those with man, many volumes or famous) are a bit expensive here in my country
proud -retired- scanlator here ;)
with the recent head hunt for online manga sites and scantlating groups do you support the illegal piracy or do you support the authors in that online reading should be wiped off the face of the earth. now while i do realize that online scantlation is illegal and hurts the pockets of many authors here in the USA even though we get a decent number of manga its difficult to find something that doesn't have a gay ninja in an orange jumpsuit its literally impossible to find underground manga or non mainstream manga so I like many turned to online sites were i can read something that doesn't have an emo orange hair Japanese guy playing death god. and yea i will admit it once when i started reading online i totally stopped buying manga from bookstores and whats more the manga we do get in books stores have crappy poorly translated lines and altered text to fit American audience while leaving out original words and changing up the flow of the story to an undesired effect and whats with the overpriced manga books seriously 9.99$ for once volume when a decent series has ten volumes that 100.00+$ that most people don't have nowadays especially not in this economy and even if i wanted to pay 100$ for some manga series i really don't want to wait 3 freakin years for the full thing to be released in the US. and even when i get a manga title from the library or a book store i can never read it in public because every time i try to whether it be in school or at the par i don't just get "that one guy" i get that angry mob of people staring at me and asking me "hey what are you reading" "that stuff is crap" "hey your black why are you reading that stuff" "you cant read that its not real literature" "man superman is way better than goku" "isn't that stuff nerdy to read" like seriously i don't invade your personal privacy hammering on you about what the heck you read. i even doubt anyone reads anymore because whenever i want to talk about literature there's always the idiot that wants to talk about fail twilight or harry potter yes those are popular books doesn't mean i want to talk about it when im trying to read my dang manga it infuriates me to no end how culturally insensitive America AND Japan are when it comes to manga and literature in general getting back to the original rant yea sure online piracy ruins the economy so does charging 10$ for a 200 page piece of crap dealing with an hyperactive retarded ninja swooning over a girl then going all gay for his best friend who doesn't even like him and getting on to the subject matter of originality its seriously lacking in manga to the point to were all shonen has the same not so bright untalented protagonist who has an amazing hidden power who loves his childhood friend who is a total tsundere who PMS's 24/7 rages yet is still popular even to the extreme that mangaka are even drawing the same way seriously go check out the manga SWOT its like bakuman meets bleach...wtf...and don't get me started on shojo manga they are so cliche that i can predict the end result almost immediately its almost like i have to lower my expectation level and physically null my brain to get even the smallest spark of excitement from manga I usually go through 40 manga titles before i find something even remotely close to what I would want in a manga so i figured hmmm why don't i just make my own manga nope tried it know what my art teacher said "that's not real art" know what my parents said "that's a waste of life throw those drawings away" even my English teacher back stabbed me with no support and i know mangaka put hours of work into their art to get it to perfection and even then its not great enough to meet he standards of a backwards society that shuns you as an outcast. well im going to end today's side tracking rant here please forgive the horrible grammar here
